TRIBAL MEMBER - TURKEY HUNTS

FALL TURKEY

SEASON DATES: November 8, 2008 through November 30, 2008
BAG LIMIT: One (1) per tag holder per year
LEGAL TURKEY: Any Turkey.
NUMBER OF PERMITS: 700, issued on a first-come-first-serve basis
SPECIAL REGULATIONS: PERSONS ENTERING THE RODEO/CHEDISKI and/or THE KINISHBA BURN AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF HUNTING DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.  IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT PERSONS HUNTING THESE AREAS UTILIZE THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE GROUND FOR ENTERING, EXITING AND PARKING.  DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING.  PERSONS ENTERING THESE AREAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF HUNTING SHOULD ALWAYS BE AWARE OF CURRENT AND POTENTIAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND PLAN THEIR TRAVEL ROUTES ACCORDINGLY.  THE W&ORD ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PROPERTY LOSS, DAMAGE, OR BODILY HARM INCURRED IN THESE AREAS.
LEGAL TAKING DEVICE:

i.               Illegal calibers include but are not limited to the following: .22, .22 Magnum, 5mm, .222 and/or .22/250.   

ii.             Bows having a standard pull of 50 or more pounds using arrows with metal broadheads having no less than 7/8-inch width cutting edges. Mechanical broadheads of any type (broadheads having hinged/rotating blades) are prohibited.

iii.            Center fire handguns and handguns of caliber not less than .44 Magnum.

PERMIT COST: $5.00 per Tag.  Limit of two (2) tags per season.  Free to Tribal Members handicapped or 55 year s of age & older.
OPEN AREAS: Reservation Wide

 

SPRING GOBBLER

SEASON DATES: April 4, 2009 through May 3, 2009
BAG LIMIT: One (1) per tag.
LEGAL TURKEY: Bearded (Gobbler) Turkey ONLY.
NUMBER OF PERMITS: 250, issued on a first-come-first-serve basis
SPECIAL REGULATIONS: All Spring Gobbler tag holders are required to submit a completed hunter questionnaire to the W&ORD office in Whiteriver at the conclusion of their Spring Gobbler hunt.
