CLOSED AREAS
Certain areas of the Reservation are closed to all access to protect culturally and biologically sensitive areas and habitats where human impact must be minimum levels. Areas may also be closed for your safety and protection. Areas closed by Tribal Regulations include:
- MOUNT BALDY WILDERNESS AREA - in the northeast portion of the Reservation (shaded area) is closed to all entry and fishing. This includes all streams and roads within the Wilderness Area.
- BECKER CREEK - up stream to Sunrise Ski Resort from the Snake Creek confluence - Closed to all recreational access.
- TONTO LAKE - is open to TRIBAL MEMBERS fishing ONLY
- PORTIONS OF THE BLACK AND SALT RIVER SPECIAL USE AREA - are closed on a seasonal basis or annual basis. SALT BANKS is closed to all entry.
- Any other Reservation road/areas posted "CLOSED" are closed to all entry and fishing
- CIBECUE CREEK - upstream from the base of the first waterfall (upstream of the Salt River confluence) to the town of Cibecue is closed to Special Use Permit holders. This closed area includes rock faces adjacent to the first waterfall. This area is open only to guided CANYONEERING tours available through Wildlife & Outdoor Recreation Division.
- All cultural, historical and archaeological sites (caves, cliff, dwellings, etc.) are closed to non-tribal members.
- WESTSIDE OF RESERVATION - see map and call office for more information.
- WILLIAMS CREEK HATCHERY TO CONFLUENCE OF NORTHFORK is closed to fishing.
