Special Fishing Regulations differ from General Reservation fishing regulations and are used to manage a specific lake or stream in a special way.  These regulations help the Wildlife & Outdoor Recreation Division improve fishing quality and protect unique fisheries.  The following Special Fishing Regulations waters:

LAKES

CHRISTMAS TREE LAKE - Special Permit Required NO CAMPING Call Hondah Ski & Outdoor Sports at (928) 369-7669 for Reservations. Cost is $30.00 daily per person up until July 4, 2007 and $25.00 per person after July 4, 2007. Limited to 20 anglers a day by Reservation ONLY. All persons entering area must possess a valid Christmas Tree Lake permit. APACHE TROUT: Possession limit of one (1) having a minimum length of 16 inches; OR up to five (5) BROWN TROUT.  Total of five (5) in the aggregate.  Artificial lures and flies ONLY with single hook. NO TREBLE HOOKS AND NO BAIT. EARL PARK LAKE - Catch and release ONLY (Special Permit Required NO CAMPING Artificial fly-fishing ONLY.  ARTIFICIAL FLIES ONLY (dry/wet) with single hook ANY FORM OF BAIT (including "Power Bait", LURES (including cowbells w/flies) or PLASTIC/RUBBER BAITS ARE PROHIBITED. All persons entering lake must possess a valid EARL PARK permit. TROUT: All trout must be immediately returned to the water at Earl Park Lake.  NO TREBLE HOOKS AND NO BAIT. Closed to ice fishing! Cost is $10.00 daily per person or an Annual Fishing with EARL PARK LAKE is $100.00 PACHETA LAKE - Catch and release ONLY TROUT: All trout must be immediately returned to the water at Earl Park Lake.  NO TREBLE HOOKS AND NO BAIT. Closed to ice fishing! Required Permit is a Daily Adult Fishing Permit $6.00. CYCLONE LAKE - Rent-A-Lake, Special Permit Required The lake is managed under our Rent-A-Lake Program Call Hondah Ski & Outdoor Sports at (928) 369-7669 for Reservations. HURRICANE LAKE - Rent-A-Lake, Special Permit Required The lake is managed under our Rent-A-Lake Program Call Hondah Ski & Outdoor Sports at (928) 369-7669 for Reservations. TONTO LAKE - TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY Open to WMAT Tribal Members ONLY and non-member spouses married to a bonafide WMAT Tribal Member who must be present.  General Fishing Limits and Regulations apply.

STREAMS

LOFER, CROOKED AND BOOGY CREEKS - No Camping; Catch and release ONLY OPEN AREAS are downstream south of Y55 ONLY to Little Bonito Creek confluence (area north/upstream of Y55 are closed to all entry). TROUT: All trout must be immediately returned to the water.  This stream contains naturally reproducing Apache Trout.  Artificial lures and flies ONLY with single hook. NO TREBLE HOOKS AND NO BAIT. Required Permit is a Daily Adult Fishing Permit $6.00. NORTHFORK AT DITCH CAMP - No Camping (along stream); Catch and release ONLY OPEN AREAS is located east of Horseshoe Lake and includes the areas east/upstream from the R78 road crossing on the Northfork to the confluence of Snake and Becker Creeks.  All trout must be immediately returned to the water, artificial lures and flies ONLY with single hook.  NO TREBLE HOOKS AND NO BAIT.  This area is closed to vehicle traffic of any kind.  Please observe all "Road Closed" signs. Required Permit is a Daily Adult Fishing Permit $6.00.
