RIVER RAFTING

Annual Permits are valid for the calendar year (1/1/2007 to 12/31/2007) and Daily Permits are valid for the day of the permit (24 hours: 12 am to 12 am.)
*Affiliates are defined as Non-Members (including Native Americans of other Tribes) who are legally married to an enrolled member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe only. Children from the marriage are not included in the "affiliate" designation. PROOF OF MARRIAGE IS REQUIRED. It is not a requirement that the Affiliate reside on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. Employees of the Tribe, Federal Agencies, or llocal Law Enforcement are no linger considered or classified as "Affiliates".
Affiliate Recreation Permits are valid for small game hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and general recreation, but do not apply to other special regulation/permit areas or activities. Affiliate Recreation Permits cover permit-holder only and are not valid for any other persons accompanying or visiting the Affiliate permit holder.

BLACK/SALT RIVER - SPECIAL USE AREA (including CANYONEERING) Daily Per Person Permit $15.00
Special Use Permits are REQUIRED for each ADULT (any person 15 years or older). This permit covers camping, fishing, hiking, canyoneering or sight-seeing in the Black and Salt River Special Use Area.
DEFINITIONS & REGULATIONS
The Black and Salt River Special Use Area is defined as "All areas within the canyon corridor/canyon features of the Black and Salt Rivers., which form the southern boundary of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation."
Adult Special Use permits covers all authorized recreational activities in these Special Use Area.
Persons holding valid tribal hunting licenses/permits or valid rafting permits are NOT required to also obtain Special Use permit for these area.
Children ages between 10 and 14 accompanying an ADULT with a valid SPECIAL USE PERMIT must purchase a valid DAILY JUVENILE FISHING PERMIT.
Children ages under 10 accompanying an ADULT with a valid SPECIAL USE PERMIT does not need a permit.
