A-1 Lake

Fair 

Try rainbow powerbait or nightcrawlers. Try lures like spinners in bright colors and spoons in brass finish like kastmasters. Boat ramp accessible. 

Black River

Fair

A Special-Use permit Is Required. Try nightcrawlers, jigs, and plastic crawdads in pools and deeper riffles near structures. Pack-It-In/Pack-It-Out. Avoid black bears by storing food in bear-proof containers or by hanging it out of their reach (~10 ft).

Bog Tank Good 

Try nightcrawlers, lime twist powerbait, or salmon eggs. Try spinners and gold colored spoons. The Kids Fishing Derby at Bog Tank will be on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Bog Tank will be closed Thursday, May 31 & Friday, June 1, 2018. 

Bootleg Lake Fair Bootleg Lake is accessible. Try jigs or spinner baits for largemouth bass. Try weedless lures in weed mats for bass. Try chicken liver or stinkbait for catfish.
Christmas Tree Lake   Reservations for Christmas Tree can be made online at www.wmatoutdoors.org. Limited to 20 anglers per day by reservation. 
Cooley Lake Fair Try nightcrawlers for trout off the top. Try crankbait and jigs for largemouth bass near weed beds around lake. Try stinkbait for channel catfish.
Cyclone Lake  

Reservations for Cyclone Lake can be made online at www.wmatoutdoors.org.

Drift Fence Lake Good  Try nightcrawlers, charteuse powerbait. Try lures like spinners like panther martins or gold kastmaster spoons. Try wet fly patterns. Drift Fence is accessible. Reservation Lake Store is closed.

Earl Park Lake

Fair  Try nightcrawlers, garlic powerbait in different colors, or salmon eggs for rainbow trout. Try lures like mepps spinners or kastmaster spoons. Earl Park Lake is accessible.

Hawley Lake

Good  Hawley Lake is full. Try baits like nightcrawler or yellow powerbait. Try spinners like mepps or silver kastmaster spoons. Hawley Lake Store and facilities are closed. Boat ramps around lake are accessible.  

Horseshoe Lake

Good  Try nightcrawlers or glitter powerbait in different colors. Try lures like spinners with silver blade. Boat anglers try nightcrawlers, powerbait, or salmon eggs. The boat ramp is accessible. The Horseshoe Lake Store is closed.
Hurricane Lake   Reservations for Hurricane Lake can be made online at www.wmatoutdoors.org.
North Fork Ditch Camp Good  Try nightcrawlers, spinners, and jigs in slower moving pools and riffles. In lower elevation streams try nightcrawlers, small crankbaits or jigs for smallmouth bass.
Pacheta Lake Fair  Pacheta Lake is Catch-n-Release. Artificial lures and flies with single barbless hook. Try wet fly patterns like streamers. Try z-rays or flatfish. Reservation Lake store is closed.
Reservation Lake Good  Try nightcrawlers or charteuse powerbait. Try lures like spinners, spinner flies or spoons. Try wet fly patterns like streamers. Boat ramp accessible. Reservation Lake store is closed. Reservation Lake is accessible.
Salt River Fair A Special-Use Permit Is Required. Try night crawlers and jigs in riffles and pools. Try stink-bait or nightcrawlersfor catfish. Pack-It-In/Pack-It-Out. It is your responsibility to pack out what you packed in.

Shush Be Tou Lake

(Big Bear)

Fair  Try nightcrawlers or glitter powerbait in different colors. Try spoons in silver finish like z-rays and spinners in dark colors like roostertails. Boat ramp accessible.

Shush Be Zahze Lake

(Little Bear)

Good  Try nightcrawlers, powerbait eggs, or lures like gold kastmaster spoons and bright colored panther martin spinners. Boat ramp accessible.

Sunrise Lake

Fair  Try nightcrawlers, rainbow powerbait, or salmon eggs. Try spoons like kastmasters and bright colored spinners. Fly pattern try nymphs and streamers. Sunrise General Store open.
Streams Good Try nightcrawlers, spinners, and jigs in slower moving pools and riffles. In lower elevation streams try nightcrawlers, small crankbaits or jigs for smallmouth bass.

Tonto Lake

(Tribal members only)

Good  Try rainbow colored powerbait or nightcrawlers. Try spinners and spoon type lures. Boat anglers try kastmasters or flatfish crankbait. Tribal members can obtain fishing license with proof of membership at the Game & Fish Office. 
Information  

Daily bag limits for trout: 15 & older is 5 fish/day; 10-14 years old is 3 fish/day; 9 & younger is 2 fish/day. A valid White Mountain Apache Tribal Permit is required and must carried at all times while fishing, boating, camping and other recreation activities on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. Permits can be obtained online at wmatoutdoors.org or at permit vendors. Firework possession and its use is prohibited on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation.
