A-1 Lake

Fair

A-1 Lake is accessible. Boat launch is accessible. Try powerbait, nightcrawlers or salmon eggs. Try lures like spinners and spoons.

Black River

Fair

A Special-Use permit Is Required. The Black River is accessible at Black River Crossing. River is flowing high and turbid. Try nightcrawlers, jigs, and crankbaits in larger pools near structures. Pack-It-In/Pack-It-Out. It is your responsbility to pack out what you pack in.

Bog Tank Fair Bog Tank is accessible and there is no ice. Try nightcrawlers, powerbait, and salmon eggs. Try panther martin spinners.
Bootleg Lake Fair Bootleg Lake is accessible. Try rapalas and spinner baits for largemouth bass. Try stinkbait for catfish.
Christmas Tree Lake   Reserveations available online
Cooley Lake Fair Try jigs with grubs, rapalas and spinner baits for largemouth bass. Try stinkbait for catfish.

Drift Fence Lake   Drift Fence Lake is not accessible.

Hawley Lake

Horseshoe Lake

Good Horseshoe Lake is accessible. There is no ice on Horseshoe Lake. The boat ramp is available. Try nightcrawlers, rainbow colored powerbait, or lures like z-rays amd spinners.
Hurricane Lake   Under our Rent-A-Lake program. Special fees, permits, and reservations required. Call the White Mountain Apache Game & Fish Dept. At (928) 338-4385 or email us at [email protected] for more information. Artificial flies and lures only, no treble hooks and no bait allowed.
North Fork Ditch Camp   Ditch Camp is not accessible.
North Fork Lower Log Fair Try nightcrawlers and powerbait in pools and riffles for trout. Try small spinners and spoons.
North Fork Upper Log Fair Try nightcrawlers and powerbait in pools. Try small spinners and jigs in riffles and pools.
Paradise Park   Paradise Park is not accessible.
Pacheta Lake   Pacheta Lake is not accessible
Reservation Lake   Reservation Lake is not accessible.
Salt River Fair A Special-Use Permit Is Required. Try night crawlers in riffles and pools. Try stink-bait for catfish. Pack-It-In/Pack-It-Out. It is your responsibility to pack out what you packed in.

Shush Be Tou Lake

(Big Bear)

Fair Try nightcrawlers, powerbait, or lures like silver Kastmasters and bright colored Mepps spinners.

Shush Be Zahze Lake

(Little Bear)

Fair Little Bear Lake is accessible and there is no ice on the lake. The boat ramp is available. Try nightcrawlers, rainbow colored powerbait, or lures like bright colored roostertail spinners.

Sunrise Lake

Fair Try nightcrawlers and powerbait. Try lures like kastmasters or wet fly patterns. It gets very windy later in the day, try earlier ot later in the day.
Streams Fair Try nightcrawlers or spinners in slower moving pools and riffles. In lower reaches try small rapalas and jigs with trailers for bass.

Tonto Lake

(Tribal members only)

Fair Tonto lake is accessible. Try pink colored powerbait, nightcrawlers, and salmon eggs. Try spinners and spoon type lures. Tribal members can obtain their fishing license with proof of membership at the Game & Fish Office. 
Information   Arizona State Route 473, highway into Hawley and Earl Park Lakes, is closed for the winter. Arizona State Route 273 from Sunrise ski Area to Big Lake is closed for winter. Firework possession and use is prohibited on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. A valid White Mountain Apache Tribal Permit is required for fishing on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and can be obtained online at wmatoutdoors.org or at different permit vendor locations on and off the reservation.
