Fair

A Special-Use Permit Is Required. Try nightcrawlers, jigs, and plastic crawdads in pools and deeper riffles near structures for smallmouth bass. Pack-It-In/Pack-It-Out. 

Bog Tank  

Bog Tank is covered  with unsafe thin ice.

Bootleg Lake Fair Try chatter bait and soft bait for largemouth bass. Try chicken liver or stinkbait for channel catfish.
Christmas Tree Lake   Scheduled to open Labor Day Weekend 2018
Cooley Lake Fair Portions of Cooley Lake covered with unsafe thin ice. Try swimbaits for largemouth bass later in the day after temperatures warm up. Try nightcrawlers or stink bait for channel catfish. Try nightcrawlers or powerbait for rainbow trout.

Hurricane Lake CLOSED Under our Rent-A-Lake program. Special fees, permits, and reservations required. Call the White Mountain Apache Game & Fish Dept. At (928) 338-4385 or email us at outdoors@wmat.us for more information. Artificial flies and lures only, no treble hooks and no bait allowed. LAKE CLOSED UNTIL MAY 2018.

North Fork Lower Log Fair Try nightcrawlers and powerbait in pools and riffles for trout. Try small spinners and spoons.
North Fork Upper Log Fair Try nightcrawlers and powerbait in pools. Try small spinners and jigs in riffles and pools.
Paradise Park    
Pacheta Lake   Pacheta Lake is covered with unsafe thin ice.
Reservation Lake   Reservation Lake is covered with unsafe thin ice.
Salt River Fair A Special-Use Permit Is Required. Try night crawlers and jigs in riffles and pools. Try stink-bait or nightcrawlers for catfish. Pack-It-In/Pack-It-Out.

Shush Be Zahze Lake

(Little Bear)

  Portions of Little Bear Lake is covered with unsafe thin ice. Try nightcrawlers, rainbow glitter powerbait, or lures like red and white spoons and bright colored panther martin spinners.

Sunrise Lake

  Sunrise Lake is covered with unsafe thin ice.
Streams Fair Try nightcrawlers, spinners, and jigs in slower moving pool, deeper riffles with structures like rocks and logs. In lower elevation streams try nightcrawlers or jigs for smallmouth bass. Stream flows are low and running clear.

Tonto Lake

(Tribal members only)

Fair Try pink colored powerbait, charteuse colored Gulp, nightcrawlers, or salmon eggs. Try mepps spinners and spoon type lures. 
Information   Arizona state route 473 is closed for winter. A valid White Mountain Apache Tribal Permit is required and must be carried at all times when fishing, boating, camping and other recreation activities on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. Permits can be obtained at permit vendor locations on and off the reservation. Firework possession and its use is prohibited on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation.
